It is very important that you use a covered saucepan when making this drink. the alcohol will boil away if the solution is not covered when it gets hot. Also,the longer this drink is bottled and stored in a dark, cool place, the better it will taste. For the best flavor, store it for at least thirty days before drinking. Makes great gifts.

My husband likes his more lemony so he adds the other lemon, and sometimes, if we cannot find any ripe tomatoes, he puts in about a cup of his favorite chunky salsa (drained) instead of the tomatoes and onions.

If you try the recipe for Milk sweet using the condensed milk, you need to let the can cool completely before you open it. If you try and open it while still hot, the contents may splater and really give you a bad burn. Better to refrigerate the can overnight.

This soup may be thinned with cream or milk if you prefer. Serve as an entree if a light meal follows, or as a meal with the addition of a salad and a good rye or whole wheat bread.
